Joe Lonsdale and Kyle Bass to headline the 2025 Land Investment Expo

CLIVE, Iowa Nov. 27, 2024 – The Land Investment Expo (Expo), one of the premier land conferences in the nation, announced Joe Lonsdale, Founder and Managing Partner at 8VC and co-founder of Palantir, and Kyle Bass, Co-Founder and CEO of Conservation Equity Management and founder and Chief Investment Officer of Hayman Capital Management, will headline this year’s Expo. The Expo, in its 18th year, will take place at Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Tickets for the Expo are available here.

“Joe Lonsdale and Kyle Bass on their own at a conference would be worth the price of admission, but we are fortunate to be bringing both to Des Moines for the 2025 Land investment Expo – and we couldn’t be more excited,” said Steve Bruere, President of Peoples Company, which hosts the Land Investment Expo. “Joe and Kyle are both tremendously successful executives who aren’t afraid to share their outside-the-box thinking on geopolitics, economics and investing strategies. I can’t wait to hear what they’re watching in the market and how changes in Washington DC in 2025 might impact their outlook.”

In addition Steve Eisman, whose work was chronicled in the book and movie “The Big Short” for his prediction of the 2008 financial crisis, will offer insights at the Expo into how the aftereffects of the financial crisis are still lingering today. Additional Expo speakers announced today include:

Richard Vague, the former Secretary of Banking and Securities for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and an accomplished author and economic futurist.

Cliff Kupchan, Chairman of Eurasia Group and a leader of the firm’s global macroeconomics coverage.

Marc Brinkmeyer, Owner and Chairman of Idaho Forest Group, one of America’s largest lumber producers.

Eric O’Keefe, Editor of “The Land Report” magazine, who will again emcee the Expo.

Additional speakers and details of breakout sessions will be announced at a later date.

“From top to bottom, the Land Investment Expo’s speaker slate will challenge attendees to think bigger, offer unparalleled insights and analysis, and help prepare attendees for the changes ahead,” Bruere concluded.

The Land Investment Expo attracts more than 1,000 attendees annually. Past speakers include Martha Stewart, President-elect Donald J. Trump, Jimmy John Liautaud, Sarah Frey, the late Sam Zell, General John F. Kelly, Jon Meacham, Kevin O’Leary, James Carville, Mary Matalin and the late T. Boone Pickens. Tickets for both virtual and in-person attendance are on sale now at https://expo.peoplescompany.com/registration.
